Enterprises of the milk-processing industry always have special requirements for technological equipment. This is especially true for equipment that has direct or indirect contact with the finished product (intermediate coolant based on an aqueous solution of propylene glycol, water).
Units such as plate heat exchangers, film evaporators must have a special design with the use of stainless steel, the composition of which is regulated for such use.
Depending on the technological process at the enterprise, cold consumers at milk-processing plants are variable in terms of refrigeration capacity. Some operations of the technical process of milk processing can reach very high values of heat release, which then need to be "cooled" in a short period of time (“peak loads”). These parameters must always be taken into account.
To compensate for the cost of the project, refrigeration equipment is selected taking into account the main components, such as “film evaporator” and/or “ice storage”. They are calculated based on such “peak loads” of the milk-processing factory. The cooling system is designed with less than the calculated peak cooling capacity (load). This allows to accumulate the necessary supply of ice for a short period of time, which will be used to cool the process in peak loads. At other times, the cooling system may operate to provide other cooling processes in the production.
